Why is Dolly rated R? Dolly is rated R by the MPAA for strong violence, gore, grisly images, language and some nudity
Violent: People are hunted and taken captive by a serial killer wearing a doll mask. A man holds a shard of glass to a woman’s throat. A person is bitten. People are stabbed, decapitated, and impaled with lots of bloody detail. A man’s jaw is split apart with a shovel and is later ripped off his face. A woman’s ear is ripped and hangs from her head before being stitched in place. A person’s head is smashed open, with visible brains. Corpses are seen decapitated, wounded, and surrounded with blood. A person licks their own vomit.
Sexual Content: There is female breast nudity in a context of coercion: there is forcible feeding from a woman’s breast. A man holds a piece of glass to a woman’s throat while making sexual comments.
Profanity: The three dozen profanities in the film include sexual expletives and a variety of other profanities.
